About FLIO - Logo Logic

In every organization, the logo is looked upon as a symbol of understanding, the focal point where ideas aggregate to form the overall theme or purpose. The logo for FLIO serves such a purpose, it is the foci for all the abstract ideas surrounding a citizen of the world - globalism, nationalism, culturalism, and other -isms.

Early in the development of FLIO, the Founder, Lee Lubbers, S.J., determined that the symbolic representation of those who speak more than one language was characterized by the eye that sees into the world and by the flight of ideas that are not bound by borders. Lee believed the representation of these concepts were reflected in the phrase "eye fly bilingo" which became the title of his blog. The further illustration of the phrase was seen in the bird, cock, or other avian flight.

There are numerous sketches of logos. These "doodles" have been adopted for many purposes at FLIO. The whimsical nature and creative flow of the logo need not be bound by two-dimensional static images. Others have stepped in to contribute their ideas, including animation and sculpture. We expect our logo logic to continue to evolve and we welcome the contributions of those who share the vision.
