FLIO Sponsors
The Free Language Immersion Operation (FLIO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing critical foreign language skills among Americans. The goal is to achieve communication ability at near-native level, depending on the individual’s potential. The tremendous need for these language skills is well recognized by organizations in the business, educational and governmental sectors.
FLIO provides support as a clearinghouse for organizations to sponsor language learners in countries of interest. Sponsorship would enable potential or existing employees for positions in international trade, education or other sectors to maximize their language potential. The "mutual best interests" of the organization and the individual can be served in a manner that provides a financial and personal return on investment. Organizations that have or plan international operations would have the advantage of an individual who is not only fluent in the standard language but also in dialectal variants, local culture, customs, business practices and other aspects of a foreign culture able to be acquired only through an immersion experience.
Sponsors can provide support on multiple levels: the overall organization; operational capital for the organization, programs in particular countries, and opportunities for FLIO participants upon exit, to name but a few areas of support. Sponsors have opportunities before, during and after the immersion experience of FLIO participants to assist in and benefit from the program.
We welcome inquiries regarding sponsorship as well as ideas to support the FLIO program for a single participant or for a group of participants, for a specific country or language, or for a specific trade or cultural experience. We offer the opportunity to tailor support within current programs or to develop in new directions to meet the critical need for people with language skills.
